Why an On-Water Assistance Membership is Important

Contributed by Sailfish partner, Sea Tow International

When it comes to needing assistance on the water, it’s not a question of IF you’ll need it, it’s a question of WHEN you’ll need it. With today’s current marine technologies, when a boater calls for help, frequently it’s due to operator errors rather than mechanical issues. Whether it’s a jump start because the radio was left on all day, or an ungrounding because of shifting sandbars, having Peace of Mind on the Water™ knowing local Sea Tow® Coast Guard licensed Captains are standing by 24/7 to help is priceless.

For new and seasoned boaters, Sea Tow membership means:

Knowing who is coming to help and when.

Sea Tow members get 24/7 priority service and are always served before non-members. Sea Tow Captains routinely arrive in under 1-hour from 500+ ports nationwide, and 86% of phone calls are answered in under 20-seconds by live U.S.-based representatives.

Unlimited towing with no distance or dollar limits in your home area.

If you need a boat tow, no worries. With membership, there are no distance or dollar limits within your home area AND you will be towed to the port of your choice (not just the closest one as with most boat insurance policies).

Premium annual membership.

On-water assistance coverage through insurance policies are never as comprehensive as an annual Sea Tow membership. No claims to file, no unexpected out-of-pocket expenses, and no reimbursement hassles; with a Sea Tow membership there is no confusion on what is covered or not.

On-water services.

Fuel delivery, jump starts, oil/parts delivery, covered ungroundings, disentanglements; and more.

Local knowledge, professional service.

Reliable, professional Sea Tow Captains are standing by to provide local navigation and referrals, share local knowledge, and are trained to troubleshoot your issues over the phone first so you can get back to enjoying your time on the water.

One call away.

Sea Tow is standing by 24/7 ready to help. If you need on-water assistance, you can:

  • Call our Customer Care Team at 800-4-SEATOW (800-473-2865)
  • Contact your local Captain at the number listed on your membership card
  • Use the Sea Tow App
  • Hail Sea Tow on your VHF – channel 16

At Sailfish, we want your time on the water to be as enjoyable as possible. Which is why all new Sailfish owners will receive a Sea Tow Trial Card membership with the purchase of their new vessel.

How It Works

After your dealer submits the warranty registration for your new boat, Sailfish will coordinate with Sea Tow to activate your 95-Day Trial Card membership. Once your information is processed, you’ll receive a confirmation email with your membership details. You do not need a physical card in hand to receive service; one will arrive by mail in 3-4 weeks. You can download a digital membership card to your Apple or Google Wallet, so you always have all your information in one place. As a Sea Tow Trial Card member, understand that your trial membership only covers the new Sailfish listed on your account.

Already own a Sailfish?

We follow Sailfish's motto “the wise choice is always worth it”. In this case, it’s a premium on-water assistance membership. In an effort to continue to provide a premium boating experience, current Sailfish owners may join Sea Tow and save $25 off the annual cost of membership. Learn more today.
