Sailfish Mixologist Jason Sorge has knack for inventing thirst-quenching recipes that pair well with water and surf. As the seasons change from summer to winter, he has concocted a few on the spicier side that will liven up your palate.
DARK JAMS
Made with an energizing burst of cold brew, this recipe is the perfect combination of coffee and cream soda. Added soda water brings brightness and reduces sweetness. For a creamier texture, add a splash of your favorite milk or cream.
Ingredients:
1 oz Blackberry Puree (mash blackberries, use a food processor, or buy pre-made puree; jam can work in a pinch)
3 oz Cold Brew Coffee
3 oz Cream Soda
3 oz Soda Water
Blackberry & Mint Garnish
Instructions:
Combine blackberry puree, cold brew coffee, cream soda, and soda water in a glass. Stir gently to mix. Garnish with fresh blackberries and mint.
BLUE AGAVE
This refreshing drink offers a hydrating twist on a margarita. The spirulina and coconut water provide bright flavors and electrolytes, making for a perfect for a day of adventures on the water, any season of the year.
Ingredients:
1.5 oz Don Julio Blanco
1 oz Blue Spirulina Water (1 scoop Blue Spirulina mixed with 32 oz water; KOS Organic is recommended)
1 oz Coconut Water (preferably Harmless Harvest)
1/2 oz Cointreau or Triple Sec
1/2 oz Pamplemousse Liqueur (Gifford)
1/2 oz Lime Juice
Instructions:
In a shaker filled with ice, combine Don Julio Blanco, blue spirulina water, coconut water, Cointreau (or Triple Sec), Pamplemousse liqueur, and lime juice. Shake well until chilled. Strain into a glass and serve.
