Meet Jack Coleman: A Trusted Partner in Safely Transporting Sailfish Boats for 25 Years

At Sailfish, the demand for quality does not stop at the end of the production line. Once completed, our boats must complete the critical journey to our dealerships. And for the past 25 years, that journey has been in the trusted hands of Jack Coleman, owner of Coleman Boat Transport.

Jack isn’t just a transporter; he’s a true partner to the Sailfish team, upholding the same high standards of care and craftsmanship that define our brand. With more than 4,000 Sailfish boats delivered and zero damage claims, his track record speaks for itself. He also boasts a Department of Transportation (DOT) rating of 1 on a 0-100 scale, where 0 is best.

Jack first got into the transportation business per a friend’s suggestion after an 18-year career owning his own landscaping business in the Atlanta-metro area. He started with hauling cars and motorcycles, but it was boats that got his attention.  

Jack’s first introduction to Sailfish, 25 years ago, was on behalf of a dealer who hired him to pick up a load of boats. At that time, he met Russ Suber (now VP of Operations) who was coordinating transportation at the time.  Jack followed up with persistence, making dozens of phone calls until he finally secured his first direct shipment from Sailfish. The rest, as they say, is history.

With close to 3,000,000 miles on his original trailer, you can say that his persistence has truly paid off. 

Oh, and we forgot to mention —Sailfish is Coleman’s ONLY customer!

For the past 18 years, Jack and his wife, Brenda, have been riding side by side in both life and business. While Jack handles the driving, loading, and unloading, Brenda runs the back office, managing logs, invoicing, bills of lading, and coordinating deliveries directly with our dealer network. Their teamwork, precision, and pride in their work are evident in every boat that arrives safely and on time.

Together, Jack and Brenda exemplify what it means to be true partners, not just in business, but in the shared commitment to the Sailfish standard of excellence. Their dedication on the road ensures that our boats arrive with the same quality, care, and attention they were built with.
