The all-new Sailfish 272CC is designed for serious fishermen looking for a smooth-riding, mid-sized offshore boat loaded with big-boat features. Case in point is the new 272CC with standard features like 25 rod holders, a 35-gallon livewell in the leaning post, and a 30-gallon transom livewell. Our port side dive door is wide and useful for hauling in oversized pelagic fish, getting back in the boat with your dive gear, and also makes it easy for passengers to board at dockside. Twin in-floor fish boxes in the rear cockpit, along with two more under the bow seats, gives plenty of capacity for keeping the catch well preserved. Unless your idea of fun is to manually haul up a couple of hundred feet of anchor line after fishing on a deep reef, you’ll really appreciate the standard thru hull windlass system.  Also, with a raw water washdown that can stay connected and ready at all times, a freshwater shower on the transom and an optional freshwater shower/washdown in the bow makes cleanup a breeze. Like its big brother the 360CC, the 272CC features Sailfish’s sixth-generation Variable Degree Stepped (VDS) hull. The VDS6 has an aggressive entry and a variable deadrise hull, steeping out from 24 to 22 degrees. To help keep the ride dry, the 272CC features reversed chines and plenty of bow flare.
All Sailfish boats are reinforced with Kevlar and carbon fiber to add strength without increasing weight. No wood is used in their construction and all hardware is high-grade stainless steel. In rugged offshore conditions, crew security is of utmost importance and with a minimum cockpit gunwale height of 30 inches, the 272CC even has 4 more inches of interior freeboard than our competition’s larger boats! While the 272CC is targeted for serious anglers, it’s also a comfortable family boat. The Entertainment Package gives you a pop-up ski tow bar, removable bow table, Fusion/Wet Sounds stereo system and three underwater LED lights that not only look great, but also attract fish. The center console is roomy and comes standard with an electric head with an above-deck pump out. Within, there is a functioning portlight and the vanity features a Corian counter, sink, and freshwater shower. A dozen cupholders spread throughout the boat gives you a quick parking spot for your beverage when a fish strikes. There’s plenty of seating aboard the 272CC with bowrider seats that have actuated self-rising backrests that are easy to deploy and stow. A flip-up stern bench seat stows quickly when it’s time to fish and the comfortable forward-facing seating in front of the console has a 55-quart cooler underneath. At the helm, twin deluxe captain’s chairs flip-down bolsters when a crewmember prefers to stand. For protection from the elements, there’s a full-height standard glass enclosure with venting.
Efficient Design Eliminates the Need to Overpower
With our ultra-efficient VDS6 hull, the 272CC doesn’t require a huge amount of horsepower to perform well. According to a Yamaha Performance Bulletin, it surpassed 50 mph with a pair of F200 four-stroke engines and achieved 2.39 mpg at 3500 RPM. If you prefer, Mercury Marine outboards up to twin 200-hp FourStrokes can be the power of choice.
